Every registered domain name has no less than 2 Name Server records which show where it's hosted i.e. by using these records you point your domain name to the servers of a certain hosting provider. This way, you've got both your site and your emails managed by the same provider. On the lower level of the Domain Name System (DNS), however, there is a variety of other records, for example A and MX. The first one shows which server deals with the website for a given domain address and is always an IP address (123.123.123.123), while the latter shows which server handles the e-mails and is always an alphanumeric string (mx1.domain.com). As an example, any time you enter a domain address in your web browser, your request is sent through the global DNS system to the provider whose NS records the domain address uses and from there you could be forwarded to the servers of a different company provided you have set an IP address of the latter as an A record for your Internet domain. Having independent records for the site and the e-mails means that you could have your site and your e-mails with 2 different companies if you'd like.

Custom MX and A Records in Cloud Hosting

If you have a cloud hosting plan from us, you will be able to see, create and change any A or MX record for your Internet addresses. As long as a particular Internet domain has our Name Servers, you are going to be able to to change particular records using our Hepsia hosting CP and have your website or e-mails pointed to another provider if you want to use only one of our services. Our leading-edge tool is going to permit you to have a domain address hosted here and a subdomain below it to be hosted somewhere else by changing only its A record - this will not affect the main Internet domain in any way. If you choose to use the email services of another service provider and they want you to set up more than 2 MX records, you can easily do it with only a couple of clicks within the DNS Records section of your Control Panel. Also you can set different latency for every single MX record i.e. which one is going to have priority.

Custom MX and A Records in Semi-dedicated Servers

With the semi-dedicated servers which we provide, you'll have total control over the records of all domains and subdomains which you add in your hosting account. You can easily check what A and MX records each of them has using the DNS Records section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel and editing any record takes just a few mouse clicks. If you want to change your web or email hosting provider, you can change the necessary record and point your domain to the other service provider for one of the services, as you still carry on using the other one through us. You may also keep the main domain here, while you modify the A record of only one of its subdomains. When you're editing the MX records and you need additional ones on top of the standard 2 we have, you could create them with ease and set a different priority for each one.
