Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Started in 2001, the Dot NAME generic domain name extension is the only one intended for personal websites only. These domain names can be personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other titles people are known by. Initially, only 3rd-level registrations were allowed, so if you planned to order john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already acquired 3rd-level domains remained operational.

Through our company, you can reserve your dot NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will be able to change the WHOIS contact details, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already registered domain to our firm if you obtain its EPP transfer authorization code from the present registration service provider and we will renew it once the transfer has been finalized. There are no particular rules on who can acquire a .NAME domain name, but in order to keep the concept behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain, the registration could be challenged.

The .NAME TLD is amongst the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no extra cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the exact spelling in your local language.
